PORK CHOPPERS first opened its doors as a custom bike shop in Pompton Lakes, NJ in 1991. John (the owner and prototype machinist by trade) modified, designed and tailored each bike he built specifically for the customer. Down to the last detail, each bike was a “Custom Fit”, even if it meant countless hours at swap meets (pre eBay) looking for a pristine, white Le Pera seat or the perfect S.U. carb. You might have seen some of his work; several of his builds were featured in Iron Horse magazine during the mid 90’s.
John had slowly fazed himself out of the custom world and concentrated his efforts on top and bottom ends, transmissions and designing custom parts. PORK CHOPPERS relocated twice, gaining valuable space with each move.
The current location (8 Queen Anne Road, Bogota, NJ) has a large retail space. This now allows PORK CHOPPERS to offer a wide variety of parts, accessories and Terri’s custom leatherwork. John has gone back to his roots. Besides motor work, he’s back to chopping and creating innovative solutions to those not so quite “bolt on” parts.
